After Dark - The Resurrection EP

Here's a metal band that hails from NYC's lower East side, with a sound that matches their down and dirty surroundings. The Ressurection EP has five tracks that offers up some decent production, and gives the band an old school hardcore feel that I believe they're going for here.

Founded by vocalist Alex Dementia, the band keeps things nice and simple to keep with a Corrosion of Conformity meets Pro-Pain/Agnostic Front style of metal. At times I hear glimpses of Glen Danzig in the vocals - especially in the song Suspiria. Austin Lunn on guitar, Andrew Jude Riotto on bass, and Veronica Bellino on drum duty round out the rest of After Dark with a harsh one-two-three punch. They've done shows with Powerman 5000 among others, and are still working out their live chops in the NYC clubs.

If you dig your metal dark and doomy at times, and other times hard and pounding - you'll dig After Dark. It's definitely a band you'll want to hear in a smoke-filled bar with your devil horns raised high in one hand and a cold beer in the other.
